羊のカーリーな毛の外観を持った素材をシープボアと呼びます。
本物とフェイクがあり、フェイクには織りタイプと編みタイプに分かれます。
前者の風合いは硬く、後者の風合いは柔らかい。というのが基礎情報。

さて、今回の写真はメンズ４、レディス２．
メンズはアウトドアーっぽいシープボアジャケットが新鮮に映ります。
また、モールっぽい外観のプルオーバーも新しい。
レディスでは、オーバーサイズコートとオーバーサイズカーディガンに、
シープボア風素材の使用が確認できます。

ところで ふわもこ素材と言えば、「ジェラートピク」ブーム（2010-2011年頃）を思い出しますね。
用途も素材の質自体も全く異なりますから、
今回の現象と繋がりが無いかもしれませんが。。。

いずれにしましても、「シープボア」は2014年も継続する素材キーワードであります。
どのようなアイテムに使われているか、着用者層のステータスはどの段階にあるか、
継続チェックしておくべき要素だと考えます。

There is a certain material that looks like curly lambswool that is called "sheep boa." There are real and fake sheep boa. The fake ones can be divided into woven or knitted types. The woven type has a stiffer texture and the knitted one has a softer feel to it. These are the basic things about sheep boa that you might want to remember.

Now let's take a look at the photos. There are four mens' items and two ladies' items. The men's sheep boa jacket has an outdoor feel that looks fresh. The pullover sweater that looks like it's made of braided fabric is also new. 

As for the ladies' clothing, I can tell that sheep boa-like material has been used in the oversized coat and oversized cardigan.

Fluffy materials like this remind me of "Gelato Pique*", the huge hit of 2010-2011. However, the way the material is used and the quality itself are completely different from sheep boa, so I'm not sure whether this past hit is related to this present phenomenon.

Anyway, sheep boa will continue to be a key material in 2014. I think it's something I should continue checking out, especially with regards to what items it is used in and the status of those wearing sheep boa.
